Another Great Christmas Triples at the Den
Sponsored by RSL Care
Despite a slightly delayed start due to a bit of rain, this year’s Christmas Triples was a great success. The rain had little effect on the green speed, so we saw a lot of very good bowls played.
All rinks were full thanks to excellent support from Ascot Park members and a number of visitors. The event was fully subscribed with twenty six teams fighting it out
The clubhouse was abuzz during the lunch break and again after the game.
Plenty of refreshment and lots to talk about.
A tight finish to the day
There were six three game winners, with last year’s victors – Lockley’s Steve Jones and company – only just missing the prizemoney by two points.
Third place went to Ascot Park’s Ian Huckel, Bob Moritz and John Wallace with a very respectable 85 point total score.
The battle for first and second was very tight with both teams finishing on 86 points. A count back of ends though, showed that Hawthorn’s Steve Packer, Dennis Crawley and Jim Bell had won the day (24 ends won) over Ascot Park’s Beth Quinlan, Deb Fry and Di Harvey (23 ends). A great effort from both teams.
Winners are grinners.

These ladies had to beat another two game winner to get into the prizes!

Did we forget to tell them the dress is mufti?
Thanks to Col Harvey and his band of 15 volunteers for providing a great day for the players.
