South Aussie Seniors are 2 From 2

Our Seniors State Side (Over 60s) is sitting at 2 wins after day of the Seniors Sides Championships at Tweed Heads BC.
Both Men’s and Women’s sides won their first two matches played on Saturday 12th.
Round One saw the Men get up by 7 shots over NSW and the Women squeezed past NSW by 1 shot.
In the Ladies match Ascot Park’s Beth Quinlan – ably assisted by President Chris at three – skipped her team to a two shot win over NSW’s Christine Myers, and Ascot Park’s Peter Gageler, Col Harvey and Tony Treloar, with Bob Scott (Bute) got over NSW’s John Green by one solitary shot. A great result over one of the strongest sides in the tournament.
Perhaps not unexpectedly, both Men’s and Women’s sides got over Northern Territory in the afternoon game. Once again, our reps in both of the matches acquitted themselves well in victory and I have no doubt they enjoyed a couple of beverages with the with the great people in the NT opposition.

With ACT in Round Three and Western Australia in Round 4, it will be another interesting day on the greens.
